After UFC On FX 7 loss, Thiago Tavares is caught on antidoping

A lot of rumours came up talking about Vitor Belfort getting caught in antidoping test recently, but Dana White, in an interview before UFC 156, said it was not true, but that it was other fighter who got caught in the test. And today the news came.

According to TATAME, the fighter who was caught in antidoping at UFC On FX 7 was Thiago Tavares (17-5-1, pictured), who fought and lost in the first main card fight against unbeaten russian Khabib Nurmagomedov (19-0).

There’s no further information on what illegal substance was in Tavares body, but the fighter will be suspended for nine months.

Fighting in UFC since 2007, it is the first time that Thiago Tavares was caught in antidoping. The Santa Catarina fighter is 28-years old and was coming on a two fight winning streak before the TKO loss to Nurmagomedov.

Other seven fighters who fought in UFC On FX 7 were tested, but everyone of them came clean.
